Haskap Berries
Haskap berries are a super fruit, known for their incredible health benefits. They contain high levels of antioxidants, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C. They have a unique flavor that has been compared to a cross between blueberries, rasberries, and black currants. Haskaps have long been known as “the fruit of life longevity” and are a favourite in Japan, Russia, and Canada. Also known as: blue honeysuckle, sweet honeysuckle, fly honeysuckle, or honeyberry.
Our ORCHARD
Valley View Haskap Orchard was established in 1998 as a family-owned business for the sale of cattle and hay bales. The haskap orchard began production in 2017 with 12 acres of haskap berries, located in the beautiful Bulkley Valley (Smithers, BC). We grow eleven varieties of haskaps, each with their own distinct size and flavour. Northern BC is a prime location for growing haskap because the temperature and annual precipitation are just right.
Commercial Harvesting
2021 was our first year of commercial harvesting as the bushes are large enough to produce a high volume of berries.
Buy from us
We offer fresh and frozen products. Frozen berries are available for purchase all year round. You can purchase 1lb bags of frozen berries at Out of Hand in Smithers, Mission Health & Wellness in Prince Rupert, and Homesteader Health Foods in Prince George BC. U-Pick: 2023 season is closed
We offer U-pick for customers who enjoy hand picking their own berries, while admiring a beautiful mountain view! This is a fun, family friendly event. No need to book in advance, drop in anytime during our opening hours. Please bring your own container. A washroom is available.

Haskaps: A Superberry
Haskap berries contain high levels of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Fibre, and Calcium. These berries help reduce inflammation and improve hydration in the body.
They are known for their protection against chronic diseases, such as cancer, heart disease, and stroke. Because of their high level of antioxidants, they are also beneficial for digestive health. These berries promote a healthy immune system as well as the growth of good bacteria.
Haskap berries also have high levels of potassium, which help build protein and muscle, metabolize carbohydrates, and regulate normal body growth.
Haskap berries have an extremely high ORAC value and specifically they have high levels of Anthocyanins, Poly Phenols and Bioflavanoids. These are different types of compounds known as antioxidants. Haskap berries have as much as three times the amount of antioxidants as a blueberry. Antioxidants help combat the bad cells in our body (that cause disease).
